Travelport Momentum Builds for Southern African Agencies with New Content, Smarter Retailing, and Stronger Local Support

From Oman Air’s NDC launch and a major Travelport+ win in Europe to the start of a new era in Southern Africa, the latest updates show clear momentum for agencies that want better access, better tools, and better support.

Johannesburg South Africa – 20 April 2026  — Travelport continues to build momentum across global travel retail, and three recent developments are especially relevant for travel agencies in Southern Africa.

Oman Air has renewed its long-standing partnership with Travelport in a new multi-year agreement that now includes NDC distribution. This makes Travelport the airline’s first modern travel retailer to offer its NDC content. For agencies connected through Travelport+, that means access to Oman Air’s dynamic fares, rich content, and ancillary services through a modern retailing environment designed to support better selling and better servicing.

This matters because agencies need more than access to fares alone. They need content that is easier to compare, easier to sell, and easier to service. Oman Air’s move reinforces Travelport’s role in helping agencies access more relevant airline content through the channels they already use.

Travelport has also signed a new multi-year agreement with ADAC Travel Management Service Papendick, one of Germany’s leading travel management companies. As part of the agreement, ADAC TMS Papendick will fully migrate to Travelport+ as its preferred GDS.

The move highlights growing demand for technology that reduces complexity for agents. With Travelport+, ADAC TMS Papendick will benefit from Smartpoint, AI-driven content curation, enhanced NDC access, and workflow automation. For agencies in Southern Africa, this is another strong signal that the market is moving toward platforms that bring traditional content, modern offers, and productivity tools together in one place.

Closer to home, Travelport has entered an exciting new era in Southern Africa with the appointment of its Operator partner, Real Time Travel Connections and SevenC Computing, trading as Travelport Southern Africa from February 1, 2026.

The newly appointed Operator is part of SevenC Managed IT Services and Real Time Travel Connections (RTTC) group, which has been Travelport’s technology partner in Southern Africa since 2012, and which has been serving Southern African customer technology needs since 1995. SevenC / RTTC is a highly respected technology and solutions leader with a strong track record of delivering high quality services and customer success.

“We’re excited about the opportunities this appointment creates and look forward to delivering even greater value to the Southern Africa agency community, and for Travelport to underpin their future business growth," said Mark Meehan, Global Vice President & Managing Director, Travelport Global Operators. "It marks a step change in how travel technology services will be delivered across the region.”

Mark added: "We've created a model that allows us to bring unprecedented flexibility, and technology solutions specifically tailored to the unique needs of the Southern African travel industry. Through this appointment, we're combining global innovation with local expertise to provide the exceptional service our customers expect and deserve."

"This partnership combines Travelport's global technology platform with Real Time Travel Connections' deep understanding of the Southern African travel market and SevenC Computing's enterprise capabilities," said Darren Osbourn, CEO of the Operator.

"Our new Travel Service and Technology Hub of Excellence in Johannesburg represents our commitment to being more than just a service provider, and we're building a centre of innovation for Southern African travel technology. With over 25 years of experience, we're excited to collaborate with and further support the growth of the local travel community."

Together, these three developments point to the same outcome: agencies need modern retailing tools, broader content access, and trusted local support to stay competitive. Travelport is continuing to invest across all three.

For Southern African agencies, the value is clear. Better access to airline content. Smarter tools that simplify everyday work. And a local team focused on helping agencies grow with confidence in a changing market.
