Travelport Southern Africa Launch Events 2026

Something real happened across South Africa.

Three cities. Hundreds of travel professionals. One shared vision for what this industry can become.

A Message From Our Team

Thank you for being part of this moment.

We didn't launch Travelport Southern Africa in a press release or a webinar. We launched it in the same rooms where you work, with the same people who keep this industry moving — travel agents, consultants, agency owners, and the partners who support them.

Over three events in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, we had the privilege of sitting across from the Southern African travel trade and saying, plainly: we are here, we are invested, and we intend to earn your trust every single day.

To everyone who made time to join us — we are genuinely grateful.

Where We Showed Up

Johannesburg

The heart of South Africa's corporate travel market

Johannesburg has always been the engine room of Southern African travel — home to the country's largest TMCs, corporate travel buyers, and agency groups. Our event in Rosebank brought together the trade professionals who power some of the most complex travel programmes in the region. We shared what has changed, what is coming, and what we are committed to delivering — right here, in person.

Cape Town

Where leisure travel meets a vibrant agency community

Cape Town's travel community is one of the most dynamic in the country — agencies that specialise in everything from luxury leisure to inbound tourism and adventure travel. Our event at the V&A Waterfront was a chance to engage with agents who understand better than most just how important the right technology partner is to building a sustainable travel business.

Durban

A growing market with deep travel trade roots

KwaZulu-Natal's travel industry is vibrant, resilient and deeply community-oriented. Our Durban event rounded off our national launch tour with conversations that reminded us why face-to-face engagement matters. The agents and partners who joined us in uMhlanga represent a market that Travelport Southern Africa is fully committed to serving — not from a distance, but from within.

From All of Us at TPSA

To every agent who took the time to show up — thank you.

These events were not a product launch. They were a promise. A promise that Travelport Southern Africa will show up for this industry the way this industry has always shown up for its clients — with expertise, dedication, and a genuine commitment to getting it right.

We know that trust isn't given. It's earned, over time, through consistent action. We know that switching platforms — or even reconsidering a long-standing relationship — is not something any agency takes lightly. And we know that words are easy.

So we will let our actions speak. The dedicated helpdesk. The named account managers. The investment in local training and support. The Travelport+ platform that is already transforming how agencies search, book, and service their clients. These are not promises for some future date — they are already here, already built, and available to every agency in Southern Africa today.

"Travelport's roots in Southern Africa run deeper than any other GDS. From the Safari terminals of the early 1990s to Galileo — operated by South African Airways for nearly two decades — to Smartpoint and now Travelport+, this platform has been the backbone of the region's travel trade for over thirty years." — Travelport Southern Africa

What began at those three events is a conversation — one we intend to keep having, in every city, with every agency, for every year ahead. This was the first chapter. There is a great deal more to come.
